The Needs for Soft Skills - Military Transition to Civilian Life
This video explains the issues that military personnel face when making the transition. For example: 81% of military personnel don't feel they are prepared to enter the civilian job market. But 20% of employers say they will be especially looking to hire vets. It is important for military applicants to "re-invent" themselves in order to be competitive in the civilian market place. This video helps military personnel identify their skills.
Power Listening
This video is one of the most important lessons. It clearly distinguishes the difference of hearing verses listening. People talk faster than we can actually hear, and this video explains how to improve your listening skills so that you do not misunderstand what a speaker is saying. It is very important for people in business to know exactly what someone is telling them.
Business Verbal Communications
The typical business person spends over 75% of their time interfacing with others, so it is no surprise that most organizational problems are due to poor verbal communications. It has been proven that when communication level improves, stress levels decrease. In addition to the five rules, the video teaches about the communications cycle, body language, and metaphors. The concept of "Positive Speak" will help you become an effective communicator.
Introduction to the Business World
Knowing what to expect in business (from an employer's point of view) is what this video will teach you. It includes actual discussions with people telling their experience when they entered the business world. Seven key points are discussed and illustrate the transition to business and civilian life. It explains how to create an "elevator speech", as well as teaching the six tips for successful Business Networking through case studies and role-playing.

Workplace Relationships
This video lesson is an in-depth lesson about the workplace. It discusses topics such as your work area (keeping it clutter free), when to notify your supervisor, what to do when you have completed your task, what to wear and not wear to work, what the "corporate culture" is in an organization, etc. A special section discusses the nine rules for professional job behavior.

Email is one of the most active forms of communicating in business. Yet, employer's are asking that employees learn to use proper communication skills when emailing customers, or internal personnel.
