+ Introduction

If you know your soft skills, it will be easier to get a job and get promoted. This is a fact in the business world. Included in this video is a section especially for graduating students and anyone returning to the workplace. This lesson is not available alone. It is only included with the complete packages for career enhancement or military editions.

+ Power Listening

This video is one of the most important lessons. It clearly distinguishes the difference of hearing verses listening. People talk faster than we can actually hear, and this video explains how to improve your listening skills so that you do not misunderstand what a speaker is saying. It is very important for people in business to know exactly what someone is telling them.

+ Business Verbal Communications

The typical business person spends over 75% of their time interfacing with others, so it is no surprise that most organizational problems are due to poor verbal communications. It has been proven that when communication level improves, stress levels decrease. In addition to the five rules, the video teaches about the communications cycle, body language, and metaphors. The concept of "Positive Speak" will help you become an effective communicator.

+ Introduction to the Business World

Knowing what to expect in business (from an employer's point of view) is what this video will teach you. It includes actual discussions with people telling their experience when they entered the business world. Seven key points are discussed and illustrate the transition to business and civilian life. Case studies further re-enforce the key points.

+ Resume Writing

This video provides the six rules to resume writing. In addition, it is followed with the six steps to creating a resume that will get read. The video shows a step-by-step process to writing a resume along with case studies and role-playing. Overall the video will help candidates create resumes that get an interview.

+ Interviewing and Networking

Packed with information on the correct way to handle interviews and how to network, this video offers the four important steps for a successful interview. It explains how to create an "elevator speech", as well as teaching the six tips for successful Business Networking through case studies and role-playing.

+ Finding a Job

Today is more competitive than ever in finding a job. This video walks you through the all current methods and best resources available in looking for your job.

+ Workplace Relationships

This video lesson is an in-depth lesson about the workplace. It discusses topics such as your work area (keeping it clutter free), when to notify your supervisor, what to do when you have completed your task, what to wear and not wear to work, what the "corporate culture" is in an organization, etc. A special section discusses the nine rules for professional job behavior.

+ Phone Etiquette

The phone is still an important form of communication. It can be the only contact a person may have with you. The impression you leave on the phone with a caller will stay with them long after the call is completed. Being professional and using proper phone etiquette is an absolute necessity in business. This video will teach the six rules in using proper phone etiquette.

+ Business Email Fundamentals

Email is one of the most active forms of communicating in business. Yet, employer's are asking that employees learn to use proper communication skills when emailing customers, or internal personnel. Use abbreviations or all caps when writing emails breaks down communication effectiveness. This video lesson has a step-by-step illustration of an actual person writing a proper business email.

+ Business Written Communications

A study by the College Board National Commission on Writing stated that 33% of the nation's workers do not posses the basic writing skills required for their positions. The study summarized, "businesses are really crying out they need to have people who write better."
This video will show employees what is necessary to help improve those skills.

+ Customer Service Basics

Having the correct customer service skills can maintain a company's image from loosing customers. Knowing how to handle frustrated customers and when to get a supervisor involved to resolve serious problems is all discussed in this role-playing and case study video.

+ Career Creations

This video is a step-by-step program to help you determine the best career for you. If you are coming out of the military, a graduating student or someone who has already started an occupation, this lesson can help you find a satisfying career.
